but starmer got a lot less votes (700k odd) than corbyn got in 2017
it's partly due to a quirk in our fptp system and this time disaffected tories either stayed at home or mostly voted for reform who got 14.3% and just 5 seats and came a very close 2nd to labour in many seats whereas lib dumbs got 12.2% and 72 seats
do you really think oaps who did vote labour voted to lose their wfp? it wasn't mentioned in labour's manifesto just as much else wasn't that this government has done
tories+reform got 38% between them against labour's 33.7%
so it's nonsense to say 'people voted for this' and 'got what they wanted'
